Abstract:

One of the approaches to design high energy absorbing materials and structures is to design new energy absorbing materials. a lot of modeling works were proposed to simulate the mechanical behaviors of energy absorbing structures and materials. Light weights, high energy absorptions, high stiffness, fracture toughness and etc. are the properties which specify composite sandwich structures. In this study, a sample of composite structure with specific core and face sheets has modeled in the ABAQUS software. Structure has put under static analysis and all the energy magnitudes have achieved from the simulation. Then, by placing piezoelectric in the structure, stored energy could convert to the electrical energy. By adding piezoelectric in different places on the structure, the electrical flux created in the piezoelectric, displacement and total energy of the structure has been determined. With comparison between different terms, the best place for establishing the piezoelectric effect to get the optimum electrical flux is considered.
