Analytical Solution for Nonlinear Heat Diffusion and Heat Transfer Equation of Fins with Different Cross Sections abstract

Heat transfer in fins possesses huge applications in the industry. Therefore, analytical solution of heat diffusion and heat transfer play a fundamental role in fin design and optimization. In this paper, a novel analytical solution for this kind of nonlinear equations based on Parameter Perturbation Method is introduced and implemented to calculate fin efficiency for three different fin cross sections. Comparing the results with those of exact and numerical solutions indicated the accuracy of used method. Furthermore, it was shown that Parameter Perturbation Method gives more accurate results than Homotopy Perturbation Method.
