Comparison of hardening models in the crystal plasticity theory abstract
Asaro, Kalidindi and Bassani hardening models are the three most commonly used hardening models in crystal plasticity theory. In this article, predictions of stressstrain curves by the models in simple compression test for OFHC copper single crystal oriented along the highsymmetry directions at room temperature are compared. At first, parameters of these models are obtained by curve fitting to experimental data in [011] direction. Then, responses of models in [001] and 1[ 11] directions (vertexes of standard triangle) are compared. The results show that the models behavior is far from each other, especially in large deformation.
