Abstract:
In the present article, the thermal buckling analysis flat beams, rectangular, circular, and annular plates, cylindrical and conical shells are presented. For all structures, thermo-mechanical properties are assumed to vary as a power law form of thickness coordinate. In some of the cases, the post-buckling equilibrium path is also presented. For some types of the boundary condition and structures closed-form expressions are presented to calculate the critical buckling temperature difference, other-wise solutions are exact but complicated or numerical. The effect of various parameters such as imperfection, piezoelectric layers, elastic foundations and intermediate ring supports are presented in detail.
