Abstract:

A resume is a document that summarizes someone's education and work experience, and the purpose of a resume is to provide a concise overview of the applicants' resourcefulness. There is a growing demand for alternative scenarios of resume assessment. On the one hand, intelligent assessment of resumes with the help of AI algorithms is getting acceptance, especially in big corporations with a high rate of recruitment and advertising vacancies and also in professional social networks where recruiters search for job seekers. On the other hand, industry ۴.۰ requires changes in the content and design of resumes, especially in the accessibility to further information about candidates. As a result, the concept of a second-generation resume bridges this gap while magnifying four main characteristics which should be highlighted when writing a resume. Second-generation resumes are the kind of resumes with four distinguishing characteristics. They are achievement- and result-oriented resumes, position-oriented, persuasive and smart. These resumes concentrate mainly on what is essential rather than the quantity of content. At the same time, they facilitate the readers with further investigations on applicants' achievements beyond the CVs and enable readers' engagement.
