Abstract:

This study discusses an advanced algorithm to improvethe efficiency of the PPERTURB AND OBSERVE MPPTMETHOD based MPPT with simulation and numerical analysistools. Power loss, a common phenomenon in power generation,refers to the power consumed during the conversion process; itis inevitable but can be reduced. For the conventional PERTURBAND OBSERVATION MPPT METHOD based MPPT controllerof a PV system, some performance loss is caused by the inevitabledisturbance of the PERTURB AND OBSERVATION MPPTMETHOD. If the power loss can be reduced, the solar energyutilization efficiency can be increased and more energy can besaved. To solve the power loss problem caused by the nonenvironmentalconditions that cause oscillations, a self-adaptiveMPPT algorithm based on the PERTURB-AND-OBSERVEMPPT METHOD is developed in this study. This algorithm isexpected to reduce power loss and improve tracking responsespeed.
