Review of management practices in midwifery abstract
Management methods are one of the most important and fundamental elements of management. The type of management affects patient care and quality of care. The current research was conducted with the aim of reviewing the management methods in midwifery and comparing the management indicators in midwifery in order to improve the indicators of the department and increase the motivation and work ability of the personnel, the need for training courses on the importance and application of these methods. In this review study, the articles with the keywords management of leadership styles, midwifery, obstetrics and gynecology department management were studied using Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Google scholar, Cochrane databases. In these articles, the information related to determining the type of midwifery management in the studies was completed by midwives, and the information related to the ward indicators was completed by interviewing the ward manager and the statistics unit of the hospitals. The results of the review of the studies indicated several challenges in relation to the study of midwifery management methods, which include the lack of use of management styles appropriate to the situation and lack of knowledge and awareness of the guidelines. In the end, the results of many studies indicate that the level of preparation and organizational maturity of employees is effective in determining the leadership style of the organization, and if it is appropriate, managers can support and encourage and establish proper communication with employees, from their ability to make decisions. Better and improve the quality of services.
