Cutting tools properties, materials, and coating

Increasing the cutting speed and quality has attended a lot of interest within the last century. One of the most significant current discussions in this field is the removal of the cooling system, monitoring the cutting parameter, and selecting the best materials for cutting tool production. Previous studies have based their criteria for selection on the choice of the foremost materials to be more efficient in the cutting process. Another aim of this study is to declare the cutting tool applications. The last part of the study set out to review the available information on the cutting tools materials. Accordingly, in this study, in the first step, the properties that the cutting tool should have and its applications were introduced. In the following, the materials that can be used for the production of cutting tools were identified, and finally, the research conducted to improve the properties of these materials was discussed.
