Abstract:
In recent years, plant cell tissue culture (PCTC) has been undergone great improvements in many aspects such as improvement in culture vessels, culture systems, alternative approaches to model and predict the complex biological process. Despite this, majority of in vitro studies still follow of the conventional disciplines of experimental designs such as application of factorial experiments in completely randomized designs (CRD), randomized complete block designs (RCBD) or split-plot designs (SPD). In recent years, alternative approaches have been applied in biological science. This review will summarize the history of DoE since ۱۷th Century until now together with the most widely applied methods of DoE to be used in PCTC studies.
