Abstract:

In this study, we simulated rectangular shaped nozzle through Eulerian approach. We used the same boundary condition that was utilized in previous experimental work of Winklhofer et al. and we found that our results are following the same trend that his results were following. In this study, mixture homogenous model, implicit volume fraction parameters, dispersed interface modeling is utilized. For turbulence modeling two equation turbulence model based on the standard model is utilized. For near wall modeling, scalable wall function is used. We also utilized steady pressure solver in our current study. Due to the nature of our flow which is very high speed, gravity effect has not been considered. Furthermore, we utilized least squares cell-based model for gradient, presto for pressure, second order upwind for momentum equations, first order upwind for volume fraction. We investigated fully formation of cavitation inception.
