Abstract:

AbstractKidney transplantation rejection remains the main challenge in end-stage kidney disorders management. Sensitive, specific, inexpensive and easy to use biomarkers may helpful for prediction of rejection and protective proceedings to reduce rejection rate. Unfortunately present used biomarkers could not predict rejection perfectly. We hypothesis red blood cell osmotic fragility change may predict kidney transplantation rejection. Oxidative stress in kidney failure, reduction in oxidative product after transplantation and manifestation of oxidative stress in red blood cell osmotic fragility are main assumptions for our hypothesis. We referred to scientific documents that support these assumptions and hypothesis. Then we discussed about advantage and disadvantages red blood cell osmotic fragility assay for rejection prediction.
