Abstract:

Sudden change in people's lifestyle and social relations with the spread of Corona disease and the emerging necessities caused by the integration of work and social spaces with residential spaces has led to a greater understanding of the undeniable truth of our homes. Already, few studies have sought the impact of this new lifestyle on the home design, though none in Iranian settings with its cultural characteristics. Therefore, the objective of this research was to discover the implications caused by these circumstances in order to provide a more responsive setting for post-covid ۱۹ residential spaces. An interview base was planned for a qualitative study, and conducted with ۱۵ participants which sought to establish criteria that would indicate suggestions for the architecture of future residences. The results indicated new guidelines for residential design which were grouped into eight categories: functional flexibility, furniture flexibility, architectural quality and diversity, privacy and social interaction, work and rest, energy consumption, health and wellbeing, and greenery.
