Abstract:
In this paper Impact of using corn starch as an admixture to enhance mechanical properties and durability of high strength concrete have been studied. For this aim, different mix design with corn starch as an additive were made in MU concrete lab. According to results adding this admixture cause an improvement in workability and other physical and chemical properties of concrete. Using cornstarch, at first caused major increase of density, compressive and tensile strength and further increases of cornstarch caused decrease in these properties. Because of chemical structure of this admixture Electrical resistance of samples containing cornstarch was increased by increase of cornstarch ratio. Results shows that increasing ratio of cornstarch causes a better acid resistance.
