Abstract:

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolates are a serious threat in hospitalinfections. Also, the presence of multiple pathogenic genes and factors causes the emergenceof a wide range of bacterial infections. The purpose of this study is to evaluate mecA, aacA,and ermA resistance genes and to investigate the antibacterial effect ofvancomycin/fluxacillin drug combination in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.materials and methods: In this laboratory study, the use of different laboratory methods,such as determining the pattern of drug resistance, checking the MIC of antibiotics using thebroth microdilution method, and calculating the FIC effect of the drugs were studied.Findings: In this study, the antibiotic sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus strains will beevaluated by disk diffusion method (Kirby-Baure), minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC)by dilution method in agar microdilution broth according to the recommendation of theClinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).Conclusion: According to the results of this study and comparing it with other similarstudies, it can be seen that the frequency and prevalence of antibiotic resistance is differentaccording to geographical regions, so maybe this is the reason for the difference between theresults of the present study and the above studies.
