Abstract:

The design and development of newpharmaceutical compounds and the development of new chemical compounds suitable for therapeutic use is a subject that is very important in terms of increasing the therapeutic effect and reducing side effects by determining the type of disease and the appropriate treatment of the disease. For this work, many chemical and technical techniques are used, as well as computational chemistry and new applications. To study the drugs used and their biological effects, the most important of these techniques are: structure-effect relationship (SAR) and structure-effect relationship (QESAR). Compounds used as drugs are usually organic compounds such as small organic molecules such as atorvastatin and clopidogrel and biologics such as infliximab and insulin.Nootropics, also known as "smart drugs", are a diverse group of medicinal substances that act to improve human thinking, learning and memory, especially when these are impaired. This review provides an up-to-date overview of the potential effectiveness and importance of nootropics basedon their nature and effects. This heterogeneous group of drugs is divided into four subgroups: classic nootropic compounds, brain metabolism- enhancing substances, cholinergics, and plants and their extracts with nootropic effects.
