Abstract:

Background: tress, as the most common issue in human life, has become one of thecharacteristics of modern life. Nurses, due to the sensitive nature of their profession, are constantlyexposed to stress. According to studies, job stress is related to smoking.Methods: This study is a descriptive-analytical research. The statistical population includes allnurses working in hospitals affiliated to Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences in ۲۰۱۸ withan approximate number of ۴۸۸ people. Data collection tools include demographic characteristicsquestionnaire, active and inactive drug use questionnaire and OSIPOW job stress questionnaire.SPSS ۱۹ software was used for data analysis.Results: Job stress was ۱۷۹.۱۶ ± ۳۱.۵۵ in men and ۱۷۷.۴۴ ± ۲۴.۳۹ in women. According to Mann-Whitney test, there is a significant difference between levels of tobacco use and levels of marriagein stress scores (P = ۰.۰۰۱). The correlation between age and stress was -۰.۲۵۵, which shows aweak inverse linear correlation, which was statistically significant (P = ۰.۰۰۱).Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that nurses, due to their stressful job, can beconstantly exposed to high-risk alternative behaviors to address these stresses and conflicts, sosystems involved with the nursing community should develop well-written programs to addressthese pressures for nurses.
