Abstract:

Undoubtedly, the importance of the ornamental fish is in their economical valuesand their beauty and unfortunately, nowadays, many diseases cause to their death. With the spread of viral, parasitic, bacterial and fungal diseases, casualties are risingin these species of aquatics. This study aimed to provide appropriate solutions toprevent economical losses caused by the Ichthyophthirius multifiliis parasite inornamental goldfish.MethodPond’s goldfish of the city of Shiraz were studied in ۴ geographical conditions. Thespecies Pearlscale Goldfish, Black Moor Goldfish, Calico Goldfish, lion headGoldfish and Red Cap Goldfish were studied in this research. And prevalence of Ich disease was investigated in various conditions such as different temperature, different turbidity of water, algal growth, and the amount of feeding and etc. Results:the most important obtained result is that, the management is the most importantfactor in prevalence of the disease. Following factors can be cited as the otherimportant results; the most resistant species is Calico Goldfish and the mostsensitive one is Pearlscale Goldfish. In the case of the lack of management, theprevalence of the disease has a direct relationship with increasing of thetemperature and at ۲۷ ˚C reaches to its Maximum point. Also the prevalence of thedisease is reduced at high temperatures. Increasing of water turbidity, the level ofblowing, the amount of algae growth and the level of water interchanges are veryimportant factors that predispose fish to the Ich disease.
