Abstract:
In this research, the process of explosion, collapse of liner, and formation of shaped charge jet have been simulated in ABAQUS software. For this purpose, the effect of various factors such as apex angle of liner, liner material, and type of explosive material on the characteristics of shaped charge jet has been investigated. Also, the geometry of jet formed at different apex angles was compared with each other and amount of velocity and displacement of copper and aluminum liner tips due to use of two different explosives were compared. The results of this research showed that the three factors of liner apex angle, liner material, and explosive material type could have a significant effect on displacement, velocity, and geometry of formed jet. The importance of results of this research is that, according to the target investigated in discussion of penetration, it is possible to choose the suitable material for liner and suitable explosive in such a way that the maximum amount of penetration in targets is obtained.
