Abstract:
Due to the importance of renewable energy in the world, Iran seeks to develop renewable energy. Using the descriptive-analytical approach and the theoretical framework of energy security, this research has tried to answer the question, how is the transition from fossil energies to renewable energies possible in Iran? This article, by examining the state of fossil energies, has tried to analyze the transition to renewable energies in terms of opportunities and challenges. This research hypothesizes that despite the adoption of plans and policies for the productivity and development of renewable energy in Iran, the transition from fossil energy to renewable energy is weak in the short term due to structural challenges. The findings of the research indicate that in the long term, structural solving challenges such as sanctions and investment and encouraging investment in renewable energy can provide a transition path by diversifying energy sources.
