Negative and Positive Effects of Different Nanoparticles Released into the Environment abstract
Due to the extensive application of metal nanoparticles in the nanotechnology industry, releasing nanoparticles through various pathways into the soil environment is probable, primarily through sewage sludge. The current research gives an overview of metal nanoparticles' fate and their transfer into the soil. The physical and chemical features of nanoparticles such as surface charge, shape, and size, as well as soil, including clay content, ionic strength, and pH, influence their physical and chemical processes, resulting in direct nanoparticle solubility by microorganisms. The behavior of nanoparticles in soil controls their mobility and bioavailability for soil microorganisms and plant roots. No more information is available about the effect of soluble processes and nanoparticle aggregation on toxicity. Many existing studies have led to contradictory results; therefore, interpreting the effective processes is not possible. In this regard, the present study seeks to provide an overview of the effect of nanoparticles on the overall performance of crops and their negative and positive effects on the soil-plant system
