What is phonetics?The word phonetics has its roots in the Greek language: the Greek word phone means"sound"! Phonetics is the study of the sounds that make up the vocabulary of a language.Each language has its own characteristics. There may be sounds in your language that are notused in English and vice versa.One of the difficulties in learning English is learning to pronounce words and letters.
