Simulation of Polymer-Surfactant Flooding and Comparison ofAdsorption and Retention of Polymer and SurfactantUsing UTCHEM Software abstract
With increasing energy demand and decreasing oil reserves, the importance of EOR processes hasincreased. Since a large volume of primary in situ oil remains intact in the reservoir after production,so using EOR methods to estimate future energy needs is a must. Many flooding projects do not havegood displacement efficiency, nor do they have good displacement sweep efficiency. We can modify themby adding chemicals. Surfactant - polymer flooding is one of these methods. One of the damagesresulting from these methods is the issue of absorption and retention of polymer molecules andsurfactant micelles. In this study, we used UTCHEM software to simulate the retention intensity ofsurfactant and polymer.
