Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of pair counseling on career adaptability and reflexivity (defined as two skills for the twenty-first century to respond to the changes) of ninth-grade female students. This study used a single-subject type A-B with follow-up design. Four ninth grade students were selected through the convenience sampling method. The Student Career Construction Inventory (SCCI) and the Life Adaptability Qualitative Assessment (LAQuA) were used as the data collection tools. The SCCI data were analyzed using a trend changes graph, clinical significance, reliable change index, and percentage of non-overlapping data. The results revealed that pair counseling did not influence three participants' career adaptability but was effective for one participant. Findings from LAQuA were analyzed based on qualitative indicators. The results showed that pair counseling affected the reflexivity. Generally, pair counseling was not effective for students' career adaptability but effective for reflexity.
