Abstract:
The growth of urbanization has led us towards enhanced technology often highlighted through innovation in Smart City design as offering an improved lifestyle experience. Alongside this though there remains concern over preserving our environment due mainly to Pollution via Air, Noise Water, Waste & Electromagnetic forces often encountered within these Urban Environments. This scientific analysis explores such concerns that can negatively affect an array of human interactions whether it be through static-disk charges via proximity sensing equipment or the introduction of inappropriate materials thus harming surrounding Eco-Systems. Focused examination has allowed us insight into how different types of pollutants such as Air Quality Issues specifically related direct exposure times with Nitrogen Dioxide; Noise pollution across particular Urban Land Aesthetic Development Zones; hazardous waste contamination entering fragile ecosystems around Urban areas leading to poor quality drinking-water contamination; contamination through forms for example Electro Magnetic Radiation where connectivity is provided by IoT devices across public networks. In mitigating the impact of these pollutants, methods and technologies have been introduced over time on a more significant scale throughout Smart City development. This article offers readers research-based recommendations to enable proactive management practices in tackling global environmental issues concerning Smart Cities.
