Abstract:

Essential hyperhidrosis is a chronic disease characterized by excessive sweating of certain parts of the humanbody, usually palmar, plantar, and axillary regions, and it sometimes involves the head and neck, whichsignificantly affect people's health and appearance. The treatment of compensatory hyperhidrosis followingsurgical sympathotomy is challenging. The present study has performed percutaneous radiofrequency for apatient successfully. This study examined a young man undergoing surgical thoracic sympathotomy for palmar hyperhidrosis. A fewmonths later, the patient under study developed compensatory hyperhidrosis in the trunk and back. Thepatient's problem was relieved by RF sympathotomy at the mid-thoracic level. This research was the first clinical case report in which RF sympathotomy was used for a patient withcompensatory hyperhidrosis after surgical thoracic sympathotomy.
