Abstract:
Introduction: Effective post-operative pain management can increase patient satisfaction and will help toreduce post-surgical chronic pain. Nursing group is one of the most important members of pain managementgroup. Pain assessment and report is critical part of pain management that should be done by nurses.Method: This cross-sectional study was analytical. Information in the form of questionnaires according to thestudied variables such as patient gender, history, patient surgery, patient history of drug use, patient chronichistory, patient satisfaction score for pain relief, nurse age, nurse gender, status Nurse marriage, nurseeducation, nurse position, nurse work experience, nurse employment status, nurse pain management trainingcourse, nurse attitude score and nurse knowledge score were collected. Finally, the recorded data werestatistically analyzed by SPSS software version ۲۲.Results and Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that ۵۱.۷% of the nurses in the study had amoderate attitude and ۴۸.۳% of the nurses in the study had a positive attitude, ۸۶.۲% of the nurses had anegative knowledge and ۱۳.۸% of the nurses had a positive attitude. the attitude had a significant relationshipwith nurses 'knowledge about pain assessment and management after surgery, so that with increasingawareness, nurses' attitudes also move in a positive direction. Considering that nurses do not have thedesired attitude and knowledge regarding the evaluation and management of pain after surgery, it is observedthat information and topics of medical education on this issue in Iran are not enough and need new policies forwe are educating nurses
