Abstract:

Fluoroscope is one of the medical equipment that is being used in various medical specialties. X-rays are usedto create images in the fluoroscope, and X-rays are among the types of ionizing radiation and can haveharmful effects on the human body. Therefore, compliance with radiation safety tips is very important for thehealth of physicians, personnel and patients. There are three types of radiation exposure sources:(۱) theprimary X-ray beam, (۲) scattered radiation, and (۳) leakage from the X-ray tube. The most radiation receivedby physicians is scattered radiation from the patient, the bed and the environment. By observing ۳ main points,i.e., reducing the exposure time, increasing the distance to the source, and using fixed, mobile and personalshielding, the harmful effects of radiation can be reduced to a large extent. On the other hand, with the correctuse of the fluoroscope, protection can also be increased. Some methods reduce not only the physician's butalso the patient's radiation exposure. Taking images with collimation and minimal use of magnification areways to reduce the intensity of the primary X-ray beam and the amount of scattered radiationAlso, with periodic dosimetry, the amount of radiation received by physicians and staff can be monitored andradiation received above the permissible limit can be prevented. In the case of children and pregnant women, it is more important to observe safety tips against radiation.
