Abstract:
This review investigates the impact of gender, age, and self-confidence on learning English as a foreign language by summarizing existing research findings. Gender has been found to influence motivation, learning styles, and language proficiency, while age is associated with differences in language learning capacity and cognitive abilities. Self-confidence is identified as a key factor in language learning success, with learners who feel confident in their abilities more likely to engage in language learning activities. Understanding the impact of these factors on language learning outcomes can inform the development of more effective language teaching methods and strategies that better meet the needs of learners of all ages, genders, and levels of self-confidence. By examining the current state of knowledge in this area, this review aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based language teaching practices.
