Abstract:

In urban development, children are looked at from a special point of view, just like other residents of the city. One of the goals of urban planning is to prepare the city for families in relation to the needs of each family, such as providing suitable housing and related needs. The application of sustainability theory in urban planning can find a direct function in urban plans except in the form of definitions such as sustainable development. Also, in recent years, theories about child-friendly urban space have been proposed. Considering some commonalities between these two theories, this article has evaluated the child-friendly urban space theory and the degree of conformity of its model points with the principles of sustainable development. The main topics of two theories have been compared. In the end, while stating the degree of adaptation of the child-friendly urban space policy, the executive limitations arising from this attitude were also presented, so that by removing these limitations, one can expect the greatest degree of adaptation of the theory of child-friendly urban space with the theory of sustainable development in urban spaces.
