Abstract:
The cocrystal Copper-Cerium based on ۱, ۱۰-phenanthroline, [Cu(Phen)۳][Ce(Phen)(NO۳)۵] (C), was synthesized by condensation of Ce(NO۳)۳.۶H۲O, Cu(ClO۴)۲, and ۱, ۱۰- phenanthroline in ethanol solution. Newly synthesized cocrystal was characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, and elemental analysis. The crystal structure of C was determined by X-ray crystallography. Antibacterial activity of compounds was evaluated against two gram-positive S. aureus, S. saprophyticus and one gram-negative P. aeruginosa bacteria, by the disk-diffusion method. The antibacterial efficacy of the compounds in the concentration range of ۱۰–۴۰ μg/D is demonstrated by determining the inhibition zone.
