Abstract:

Research and articles show that writing skill of Iranian learners is not at a satisfactory level. Writing is likely the most difficult thing in language. This study was an attempt to find out the impact of Teaching Journal Writing on the students writing skills. To this end, ۴۰ students from Islamshahr Azad University in Iran participated in this study. They were divided into two groups of ۲۰, one as an experimental group that received teaching journals writing as the treatment and a control group which received traditional method of writing. We have selected parts of Fast company and Cricket and Cicada journals to teach in the experimental class. The researchers used a quasiexperimental, pre-test/post-test control group design. The data were analyzed by SPSS. The findings of this study showed that teaching journals writing improved significantly their writing skills in the experimental group. We believe that the teaching of writing using Journal significantly affects the student skills in writing
