Epilithic diatoms of Sülük Lake (Ağın/Elazığ, Turkey)

In this study, diatoms in the epilithic samples collected from a selected station located on the Sülük Lake (Ağın/Elazığ) between March and November of ۲۰۲۰ were investigated. During the study, a total of ۲۶ taxa belonging to the epilithic diatoms were recorded. The diatom species represented by the highest number of taxa were Nitzschia (۵ taxa) and Cymbella (۴ taxa). The number of individuals of the diatoms increased in parallel with the increase in temperature and light. Due to the fact that it is a recreational area, the Sülük Lake is open to eutrophication, particularly in the spring and summer months. In addition, in the summer months, the average temperature was ۲۴.۲℃, the average dissolved oxygen was ۸.۴۸ mg O۲/L and the average electrical conductivity was ۳۳۱.۴ µmho/cm, which were recorded to be at normal levels.
