Design of Phycolab system and its applications

About a century has passed since the beginning of the pure cultivation of algae with various applications, and today many algae herbariums have been established in different countries, and now various systems have been invented for the pure cultivation of algae. Algae laboratory cultivation is based on the results obtained by researchers in other countries. The indiscriminate entry of urban and industrial wastewater, agricultural toxins and chemical fertilizers has caused important problems and issues. It caused algal blooms and widespread mortality of fishes, zooplanktons, benthos, etc. in aquatic ecosystems.The occurrence of these phenomena showed the necessity of establishing laboratories that contain necessary researches in this matter and this necessity caused the establishment of phycolab laboratory in the Aquaculture Research Institute of Inland Waters of the country, which investigates the effects of toxic substances on different living organisms from Phytoplankton to be discussed. This laboratory has many other applications related to fresh water biology, algae ecology, live food, creation of algae gene bank and side uses of phytoplanktons. In the establishment of this laboratory, efforts have been made to apply the existing standards in this regard.
