Abstract:

The COVID-۱۹ pandemic was a big challenge for the education system. During COVID-۱۹, theface to face instruction was suspended, and the education system shifted from the traditionalclassroom into the online environment. So, the shift from traditional classrooms to an onlineenvironment affects various aspects of students' education. This study aimed to investigate thefactors which affected online learning and face-to-face education during the COVID-۱۹ pandemicand Post-COVID-۱۹. Through this study, a questionnaire was used to collect data about thestudent's attitudes toward online learning during the pandemic and post-pandemic. Data weregathered from ۸۱ Iranian EFL students via a questionnaire during the COVID-۱۹ pandemic andafter re-opening the universities. This study has been carried out with mixed-methods research.Also, descriptive statements and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data of this studyto get a better understanding of the student's attitudes toward online and face-to-face learning. Inthis study, several factors were considered to measure the attitude of the students about onlinelearning and face-to-face learning such as the interaction with the instructor and teacher assistanceonline learning, students' motivation, communication with other students and their independencein doing homework. The result indicated that the mean score of attitudes of the students werehigher in face-to-face education comparing online education. While the benefits of onlineeducation cannot be ignored in this study the participants preferred face to face education. Theresults of the present study can be quite beneficial to the teachers and education researchers andalso, the education systems to enhance their classrooms in both distance and traditional learning.
