Abstract:
Vortex generators are a sort of heat transfer enhancement mechanismwidely employed in various heat exchanger configurations. Vortexgenerators not only increase mixing conditions and reduce the thicknessof the boundary layer, but they also induce the formation of fluid-flowingvortices, enhancing the heat exchanger's thermal properties. Since therole of the third characteristic (generating a vortex) is more crucial thanthe roles of the other characteristics, they are referred to as vortexgenerators. The vortices generated by the presence of a vortex generatorare so sensitive that the slightest change profoundly influences thethermal-frictional behavior of a heat exchanger in the generator'sgeometric or other specifications. The simulation is performed inANSYS fluent software. After simulation, it is found that in RE=۴۲۰۰۰,with the fluid flow becoming more turbulent in all cases, the Nusseltnumber and consequently the heat transfer rate has increased, and in thecase where the turbulators with a base width of ۲۵ mm with the angle of۳۰ degrees is placed, the Nusselt number is the highest and ۳۵۵.۰۵, whichindicates the highest heat exchange rate compared to other angles andlines of the first state flow
