Abstract:
Different microstructures were produced by heat treatment of 4340 steel. These microstructures are bainite with 37, 46 and 51 volume percent of ferrite. Mechanical tests were carried out at room temperature. The results showed that yield and tensile strengths, percent elongation and hardness of bainite–ferrite steels decrease with increases in volume fractions of ferrite
