Abstract:
Nanofluids evaporation rate at varying concentrations were measured by an experimental device at different air velocities. Aqueous nanofluids with clay, TiO2 and Ni/Fe nanoparticles were studied. The experimental results showed that TiO2 and Ni/Fe nanoparticles were able to reduce their base fluid evaporation rate, but clay enhanced its base fluid evaporation rate. The results revealed that the nanofluids evaporation reduction and enhancement efficiencieswere distinctly affected by nanoparticle concentration and air velocity. The results also suggested that the efficiency curves of TiO2 and Ni/Fe nanoparticles were bowed inward and the efficiency curve of clay nanoparticle (that enhances its base fluid evaporation) was bowed outward
