زمینه و هدف: مراجعه کنندگان به مراکز دندانپزشکی و کارکنان این رشته مدام در معرض بیماری های عفونی نظیر ایدز و هپاتیت قرار دارند. علیرغم پیشرفت های وسیع درزمینه کنترل عفونت در طی سالیان اخیر، هنوز مشکلات زیادی در سطح مراکز درمانی خصوصی و دولتی مشاهده می گردد. هدف از این مطالعه بررسی آگاهی و نگرش دندان پزشکان عمومی در سطح شهرهای مرودشت، فسا و کازرون در ارتباط با میزان رعایت کنترل عفونت در زمان تهیه کلیشه های رادیوگرافی داخل دهانی است. مواد و روش ها: این مطالعه مقطعی-تحلیلی و جامعه موردپژوهش دندان پزشکان شاغل در شهرستان های مرودشت، فسا و کازرون بود. از هر شهرستان ۱۵ دندان پزشک به صورت تصادفی انتخاب شدند. اطلاعات توسط پرسشنامه جمع آوری شد. تجزیه وتحلیل نتایج توسط تست های one-way ANOVA، student’s t-test و pearson’s correlation coefficient انجام گرفت. نتایج: میانگین نمرات آگاهی (از ۱۲ نمره) در شهرستان فسا ۶۶/۵، مرودشت ۴/۶، کازرون ۰۶/۴ و میانگین کل ۳۷/۵ شد. میانگین نمرات نگرش (از ۱۲ نمره) در شهرستان فسا ۲/۶، مرودشت ۸۶/۶، کازرون ۰۶/۵ و میانگین کل ۰۴/۶ به دست آمد. آگاهی دندان پزشکان شهرستان مرودشت در مقایسه با کازرون با اختلاف معناداری بالاتر بود. درکل میزان آگاهی و نگرش دندان پزشکان در مورد رعایت کنترل عفونت در هنگام تهیه رادیوگرافی در حد خوب نیست. نتیجه گیری: نیاز به تاکید بیشتر به مقوله ی کنترل عفونت در زمان تهیه رادیوگرافی های داخل دهانی در آموزش های دندانپزشکی جهت ارتقای آگاهی و تصحیح نگرش دندان پزشکان نسبت به این موضوع از اهمیت ویژه ای برخوردار است.
