Abstract:
Among specimens collected from West Azerbaijan province- Iran, during ۲۰۱۱-۲۰۱۷, fourteen species of the genus Megaselia Rondani ۱۸۵۶ were identified. Twelve species (Megaselia aculeate (Schmitz, ۱۹۱۹), M. annulipes (Schmitz, ۱۹۲۱), M. brevicostalis (Wood, ۱۹۱۰), M. giraudii (Egger, ۱۸۶۲), M. hendersoni Disney, ۱۹۷۹, M. hirticaudata (Wood, ۱۹۱۰), M. meconicera (Speiser, ۱۹۲۵), M. minuta (Aldrich, ۱۸۹۲), M. pleuralis (Wood, ۱۹۰۹), M. plurispinulosa (Zetterstedt, ۱۸۶۰), M. subnudipennis (Schmitz, ۱۹۱۹) and M. verralli (Wood, ۱۹۱۰)) are being newly reported from Iran. A key to the studied species along with their geographical distributions and supplementary figures are given.
