Abstract:

Effects of supplemental phytase and xylanase in a corn-soybean meal based diet containing ۲۵۰ g/Kg wheat bran, were investigated. on broiler performance and phosphorus degradability and nitrogen digestibility. Phytase (۵۰۰ and ۱۰۰۰ FTU) and xylanase (۲۷۰۰ and ۵۴۰۰ EXU) individually and in combination were added to the basal diet and given to ۶ replicate groups (۴ birds per replicate). At ۲۱ days of age, birds were weighed and killed , ileal contents were collected and analyzed for P, N, chromic oxide and gross energy. Added phytase significantly (P<۰.۰۱) improved feed conversion ratio (FCR) (۱.۵۹ vs ۱.۶۲ g /g) and tibia ash (۴۶۴.۴ vs ۴۴۴.۳ g/Kg). Protein digestibility was increased (۸۱.۷ vs ۷۹.۴%) significantly (P<۰.۰۱) by ۵۰۰ FTU/Kg added phytase. Supplemental xylanase significantly (P<۰.۰۱) improved FCR (۱.۵۸ vs ۱.۶۳ g/g) and protein digestibility (۸۲.۰ vs ۸۰.۴%). Phytate P degradability was significantly (P<۰.۰۲) improved by added phytase (۴۱.۴ vs ۲۷.۸%). Combination of supplemental phytase and xylanase had some beneficial effects on improving the nutritive value of diets containing wheat bran for broilers.
