Abstract:

Introduction: Cancer is the first and second cause of death indeveloped and developing regions respectively. In a normalstate, parallel to the increase in cell proliferation, an increase incell death will also occur, so that these two are in balance witheach other. In cancer, cells are out of this precise control, andmasses called tumors are formed. In fact, cancer or neoplasmarises from a normal cell whose reproduction mechanism hasbeen changed. now the attention of scientists has been drawn tothe use of new treatment methods.Materials and Methods: In this study, the effect of crude aqueousextract of the Qaisum(Achillea millefolium) on the growthof different cancer cells was investigated, and it consisted ofthree parts. ۱: plant collection: which was obtained from theAffiliated Herbal Medical Center, preparation of the aqueousextract of the plant۲: REF – fibroblast cells of the transformedrat embryo,۳: Vero-transformed monkey kidney cellsResults: Mouse mammary gland carcinoma (AMN-۳) and twoof them are mutated, they are the fibroblast cell line and themonkey kidney cell line VERO (Vero). In cancer cells, it wasfound that high concentrations of the extract give the highestpercentage of inhibition of cell growth decreases after ۷۲hours, and no significant differences were observed betweenthe control samples with low concentrations, and after ۲۴ hoursof exposure, then the percentage begins to decrease. After ۴۸hours, the experimental samples, and the same results appearedin the transformed cells, but it was noted that the percentage ofinhabitation was less than what was found in the cancer cells. Conclusion: Therefore, the Conclusion: from the study was thatthe aqueous extract of the Qaisum(Achillea millefolium) plantis useful in inhibiting cancer cells and increasing the simulationof programmed death in them. it is suggested That use as an alternativetreatment to the usual chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
