Abstract:
One of the fastest-developing areas in molecular sieve science is the synthesis of transitionmetal-containing molecular sieves. Since the discovery of periodic mesoporous silica M۴۱Smaterials in ۱۹۹۲ [۱], a wide variety of new materials have been synthesized to exploit the abilityof these substrates to act as hosts of inorganic and organic species. The most widely researchedmembers of the M۴۱S family are MCM-۴۱ and MCM-۴۸. MCM-۴۸ consists of a cubic array witha three-dimensional pore network. Whereas mesoporous M۴۱S silicate materials do not exhibitflexible oxidation state behavior, the capacity of transition metals to have variable oxidation statesexpands the potential of M۴۱S materials to be used in catalytic applications [۲].In this work, mesoporous MCM-۴۸ was synthesized and modified with ۳‐chloropropyltrimethoxysilane. Thendithizone groups was immobilized on modified MCM-۴۸ and finally nickel metal was fabricatedon its surface (MCM-۴۸@Dithizone@Ni). The structures of the MCM-۴۸@Dithizone@Ni wasdetermined using various techniques such as SEM, EDS, WDX, TGA, XRD, BET and FT-IR. Animportant characteristic of the MCM-۴۸@Dithizone@Ni catalyst is that very stable without aconsiderable decrease in their catalytic performance after five cycles.
