Abstract:
Most Schiff base metal complexes have an azomethine group as a coordination site, whichmakes them amenable to easy structural alterations. They may also be easily produced via onestepcondensation processes, which promote coordination when three, four, or five bondsseparate other donor sites. Mo and V complexes with several hydrazone-based Schiff bases haveoutstanding catalytic activities in various chemical processes [۱-۴]. Numerous studies on theiruse in homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis have been documented during the past severalyears. Considering the features of both ligands and metals, they can support the production ofextremely effective complexes because their properties are often boosted by complexation. Therefore, significant catalytic activity data for the Mo and V complexes prepared using ONOdonor pyridyl hydrazone-based tridentate Schiff base ligands in oxidation reactions aresummarised in this paper.
