Abstract:
Drug resistance and lack of selectivity are major problems in the treatmen of deseases such ascancer and microbial infections. Considering thise, the design and development of new bioactiveagent to devoid of many of the unpleasant side effects has become a serious challenge to medicalchemists. Due to steric, electronic, and conformational properties, structures of phosphorusderivatives allow them to intract easily with the biopolymers of the living systems [۱,۲]. In thisstudy, a Cu(I) complex of phosphoric triamde ligand, C۶H۵C(O)NHP(O)[NHC(CH۳)۳]۲.CuCl (۱),was synthesized according to the procedure of our previous work [۳].Cytotoxic activities of (۱) was assayed against A۵۴۹ (lung cancer) and MCF-۳ (breast cancer)cell lines by applying the MTT colorimetric assay. Results showed that the effective doses ofcompound (۱) that inhibited ۵۰% growth (IC۵۰) of A۵۴۹ and MCF-۳ cells were ۲۴.۶۵ and ۴۱.۵۳μM respectively According to IC۵۰ values, the (۱) was much more active against the lung cell thanbreast cell. In other words, it has a greater interaction with the lung cancer cell membrane thanbreast cell. Thus it has a better anti-proliferative effect on the lung cancer cell.
