Optimum Design of Scallop Domes abstract
Size optimization of scallop dorres subjected to static loading is focused in the present paper. As this type of space structures possesses a large number of the s1ructural elements, optimum design of such s1ructures results in efficient structural configurations. Jn this paper, optimization task is achieved using particle swann a1goritlun by taking into account linear and nonlinear responses of the s1ructure. Jn the nonlinear optimization process only the geometrical nonlinearity effects are included. The munerical results demonstrate that nonlinear optimization provide appropriate s1ructures compared with the linear one
