STUDYING THE ESSENTIAL PARAMETER IN SERVICEABLITY LIMIT STATE

Regard to the importance of prevention the nonstructural damage and also serviceability of essentialstructures , after minor or moderate earthquakes that happen frequently , and in direction of complete satisfying the seismic design philosophy of structures in Iranian code 2800,2nd . edition , represent criteria for controlling structure in serviceability limit state .In this paper the necessity of creating and developing provisions for controlling structures in serviceability limit state has been demonstrated and then essential parameters in this limit state including stress and drift control in Iranian code has been evaluated .The results obtained from this research , represent that by considering only one limit state in designing structures , the seismic design philosophy of structures won’t be satisfy .
