Considering the Digital Twin as the Evolved Level ofBIM in the Context of Construction ۴.۰

In Construction ۴.۰, digital practices such as laser scanning, artificial intelligence, buildinginformation modeling (BIM), and cloud computing significantly affect the way the built environment isdesigned, implemented, and maintained. The concept of the "Digital Twin " has emerged in recent years dueto the capability of real-time connectivity to online sensors put in an area. Digital twins aim to synchronizethe real world with a virtual platform to control of the building process, life cycle functions, and facilitymanagement. To determine how new technologies are evolving and helping BIM become Digital Twins inbuilt environment applications, this article undertook a systematic review. This study is a descriptiveanalyticalsurvey with a qualitative component. Library research and an examination of textual sources areused to get information. First, a detailed assessment of BIM and digital twin technology, as well as theirintegration to optimize different processes across the project life cycle, were investigated in this study. In thefollowing, their relationship has been analyzed through VOS software by checking the databases. Accordingto the study's findings, the utilization of technologies such as BIM and digital twins plays an important role infacilitating the design and planning process, precise construction operations execution, and efficient projectmanagement.
