Abstract:

Oreyzi and Golparvar (۲۰۱۵) showed in their research that the characteristics that Aaron T. Beck attributes to depressed people, i.e. extreme generalization, personalization and abstract selection, are also seen in manic people. The question that arises is whether it is possible to influence high emotions and low emotions by correcting these biases. In this research, a training package was designed, the first four sessions of which were cognitive specificity, the second four sessions were empathic behavior training, and the last three sessions were conceptualization and giving meaning to experiences. Each of these interventions was to reduce overgeneralization, personalization, and selective abstraction. PANAS scale was used to measure positive and negative emotions before and after each training course. First, two groups of ۱۰۰ people were selected, and the selection of both groups was random. However, in appointing the group related to positive and negative emotions, the sampling method was self-selection and for their appointment, an initial screening test was conducted with the PANAS scale, people who were in the third quartile PA were selected as people with high positive affect and those who were in the third quartile of NA were selected as people with high negative affect. There was no intersection in these samples, that is, there were different people in each subgroup. In the normative group, the assignment was again random. The inclusion criterion was mental health, which was controlled by the SCL۹۰. After each stage, the results of PANAS scale showed that after the first, second and third stages, in the group of positive emotions, the score of the participants in PA and in the group of negative emotions, the score of the participants in NA approaches the average score of the control group.
