Abstract:

The spread of the phenomenon of smuggling of goods is one of the most important problems that the industry, factories and domestic productions are facing in such a way that the indiscriminate and illegal entry of goods into the country and the lack of control by the responsible institutions challenges the industry and domestic productions has faced with serious obstacles. The existence of severe economic deprivation and high unemployment rate in the border areas has a tremendous effect on increasing the illegal crossing of people and, as a result, the smuggling of goods, drugs, weapons, fuel, livestock, and other things that are considered to be a place of border security. Residents of border areas are often people who do not have favorable conditions for healthy employment; therefore, they turn to smuggling and illegal activities to earn money. In the meantime, the high profitability of goods smuggling is one of the most important reasons for this trend. This profit is caused by the price difference between the domestic market and the neighboring countries. The geographical situation is the most important factor that has caused the spread of goods smuggling in the country, especially in Sistan and Baluchestan province; The presence of thousands of kilometers of waterways and land on the borders and the proximity to unstable countries have caused a decrease in productive investment in the border areas. Also, this has caused the non-prosperity of joint border markets. In this article, with a documentary and library method, and investigating and determining the factors affecting the phenomenon of goods smuggling in the borders of Sistan and Baluchestan province, and providing solutions to reduce the phenomenon of goods smuggling and suggestions for the economic and social growth of the province, it is proposed. Closing the borders and creating the necessary security in the province and boosting the border bazaars can greatly affect the economic and social growth and prosperity of the region and consequently reduce smuggling.
