Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to compare the effectiveness of Yalom and Psychodrama group therapy on mental health and social adjustment of people he was infected with HIV disease in Shiraz city. Research method: The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group and a follow-up period. Statistics included people with HIV disease in Shiraz city. Among them, ۴۸ people were selected by purposeful sampling random method placed in two experimental groups and one control group. They got examination group Yalom therapy group during ۱۰ sessions and group Psychodrama experiment for ۱۲ sessions during ۶ weeks as a group under training. Subjects using the Goldberg Mental Health Questionnaire (GHQ; ۱۹۷۲) and the Bell Social Adjustment Questionnaire (۱۹۶۱) before the beginning of the treatment, the end of the treatment sessions, as well as the ۴۵-day follow-up phase after the group training were evaluated. The control group without any thing they were group training. Covariance analysis with repeated measurements was used to analyze the data Findings: The results showed that the use of Yalom and Psychodrama therapy group on the mental health and social adjustment of people with HIV disease in Shiraz city is effective, and the psychodrama group had a greater effect than the Yalom therapy group. Conclusion: Based on this, it can be concluded that both treatments, Yalom therapy group and psychodrama, have an effect on mental health social adaptation of people with HIV disease in Shiraz city is effective, but psychodrama affects mental health and adaptation social has more impact than Yalom therapy group.
